What is the Goodwood Junior Series?

Whether you are a low-handicap junior golfer or are stepping onto a golf course for the first time, the Goodwood Junior Series offers a level and a challenge to suit you. For children involved in golf coaching only, competitions can feel very daunting. The Goodwood Series is a fantastic pathway for taking juniors right through from their first round to playing regular, 18 hole, competitive golf. The Series includes 4 stages; juniors start at a suitable level and work their way through at their own pace, they are designed to be manageable and enjoyable while providing an appropriate level of challenge. Juniors can join at any level and their progression through each level is rewarded with branded golf products.

Blue Series

For a new Junior Golfer, competitive golf can seem very daunting. Our Blue Series is the first step from the range to the golf course, in which we play relaxed rules and provide lots of opportunities for success. In this series children play 9 holes from our blue tees which are roughly 200 yards from each green, on the Park Course. Once Juniors get to grips with this and have shot 55 or better on 3 occasions, they will receive their prize and be invited to join the Green Series.

Suitable for junior members & non-members involved in coaching at The Academy.

Green Series

Juniors play 9 holes from our green tees, this is the final stage of transition between coaching and playing 18 hole competitions. By the time juniors complete the Green Series they will be able to regularly shoot 50 or better over 9 holes, know how to mark a scorecard, understand basic golf etiquette and will have 6 scorecards marked, ready to receive their first official handicap. On completion of the Green Series, juniors will receive their prize and be invited to and join the Orange Series, to do this they are required to become a Junior Member.

Suitable for junior members & non-members involved in coaching at The Academy.

The next step on our Junior Golf Pathway is Junior Membership; once a Junior has taken out membership he/she will be given their official CONGU handicap and will have access to a range of Competitions which include our Orange & Purple Series as well as the Junior Order Of Merit. Juniors who compete regularly in these competitions may also be given the opportunity represent the Goodwood Junior Team and from here, the sky is the limit!

Booking is required for every event you wish to attend, this enables us to book sufficient tee times. Blue & Green Series participants aged 12 and under must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

To book Orange or Purple Series events please visit the 'Competitions' tab and select 'Upcoming'. You may wish to filter your results to include Junior competitions only.
