Ready Golf
Are you aware of Ready Golf? Moving forwards and with a real focus for 2018 Golf At Goodwood will be supporting the R&A's decision and implementing Ready Golf across all competitive and social golf, with the exception of Matchplay events.
Ready Golf is a format of golf that has been devised to help golfers speed up their round without having to play faster - If you are ready and its safe to do so, PLAY!
When used, ready golf can speed rounds of golf up by 20 minutes or more which is essential to improving the enjoyment on our courses.
Our Guidelines for Ready Golf
On the Tee:
1. The player who is ready should hit
2. Shorter hitters should hit first if longer players have to wait
3. Tee-off as soon as its safe to do so
4. Carry an extra ball in your pocket
On the Fairway
5. Hit when ready and safe; do not necessarily wait for the player who is the farthest away
6. Take appropriate clubs to your ball
7. Have your group watch where each shot goes
8. Play your own shot before helping look for a lost ball
9. Limit search for lost balls to 3 minutes
10. (Playing Stableford) if you have taken too many shots and can’t score on a hole pick up.
On the Green
10. Place your clubs between green and next tee.
11. Study your putt while others are putting.
12. Continue putting until holed out or introduce 'gimmies'
Short cuts
14. Mark your score on the way to the next tee.
15. When driving a Buggy, drop your partner at his ball, then, continue to yours.
3 Key Ready Golf Rules:
1. Stay within one shot of the group in front of you.
2. Hit when ready and safe (no honour system).
3. Continue putting until you hole out.
